#12 on the map out of 949.

Imagine where you’d be if Google could see the pages that sell your work.

01

What is already right

Before anything else: most of this is working. All three of your Google listings are claimed, described, stocked with photos, and pointed at their own city page. That is a managed setup, not a neglected one. Your content operation is live and funded. And on the map you outrank 937 of the 949 contractors who hold any top-three presence in Puget Sound.

Technical hygiene is good, and that matters.
Zero missing H1s. Schema on 325 of 327 pages. SSL, HTTP/2, a valid sitemap and robots file. A median of 1,325 words per page. This is not a neglected site. It is a well-maintained site pointed at the wrong targets.
02

Where you actually appear

I did not want to hand you guesses, so I measured. I checked Google’s map results at 1,544 points from Arlington to Lacey — a 2,618 square-mile polygon — on the ten highest-value remodeling searches, and recorded where each of your three listings appears at every one of them. That is 15,440 searches and 1,538,368 rows of results, run on 17 July 2026.

Measured across 1,544 grid points × 10 keywords, scan bb_20260717_0351. Renton was seen at 1,530 points, Bellevue at 1,544, Seattle at 1,224.

Renton carries the entire map on its own. The office you are hiring into holds two cells out of 1,544. That is structural, not a verdict on the work — both satellites sit at an address a direct competitor also publishes, and both carry about sixteen reviews against Renton’s hundred and eight.

The scoreboard is upside down

Here is the same firm, the same map, and the same day — on two different searches. Switch the keyword and the result inverts. You win where the field is small and the money is thin, and you are absent where the field is large and the money is real.

The Puget Sound grid on home addition builders: BB-Builders Pro ranked third of 1,071 firms, green across the map.
Home addition builders — 480 searches/mo, $3.55 CPC
#3 of 1,071 · 194 top-three cells · 13% of the grid
Your strongest keyword, and the cheapest one in the scan. It carries 39% of your entire map score on its own.
The same grid on kitchen remodel contractors: BB-Builders Pro ranked 48th of 1,277 firms, mostly absent.
Kitchen remodel contractors — 60,500 searches/mo, $16.51 CPC
#48 of 1,277 · 31 top-three cells · 2% of the grid
The most valuable search in the scan, worth roughly $999k a year in volume × cost per click. You hold thirty-one cells of 1,544.

Ten keywords, ordered by monthly search volume. Volume and cost per click from the paid keyword pull; field size and cell counts from scan bb_20260717_0351, 17 July 2026.

Read the two ends of that table together. Your best keyword is the bottom row. Your worst is the top one. That is not a skill problem — it is an aim problem, and aim is the cheapest thing on this page to change.

04

The pages that sell rank for nothing

Your site has sixty money pages — the service pages, the city pages, the ones whose job is to sell a remodel. Between them they earn 6,890 searches a month, and 4,880 of that is people typing your own name. Your blog earns 291,320. The traffic is arriving. It lands on an article about bedroom sizes and stops there.

660 links inside your own site lead to a dead end.
One link in your sitewide page template points at /expert-home-extension-services/, which no longer resolves. Because it sits in the template, it repeats on essentially every page — 660 internal links, plus 4 more pointing at a second dead URL, 664 in total. Both are still listed in your sitemap. This is the cheapest and most concrete fix on the site.
i
How competent work and a broken site square with each other.
Someone is clearly showing up and doing the work, week after week. Earning reviews and publishing articles is one trade; wiring a website is another. The effort is real. The site it flows into was never built to catch it — and of the two, the wiring is far cheaper to fix.
05

What is sitting on the table

These are the openings, and they are the good part of this letter. None of them require inventing anything. Each one finishes something that already exists.

Bing Places, Apple Maps, Yellow Pages and five more
Orphaned pages
20
including the entire projects portfolio

Fifty-nine of your rankings sit on page two, where nobody looks — existing pages one revision from page one. Your portfolio, the best sales asset a remodeler has, cannot be reached from your own home page. And the deck content you have already paid to write was never measured at all, because my keyword discovery run hit its item cap before it reached decks, ADUs or garage conversions.

One number on this page is not yet measured.
Nothing here says anything about your leads, calls, or closed jobs. I have no analytics access, no CRM, and no call log, so conversion is not visible from where I am standing. Every other figure on this page was measured, not estimated.
06

The order I would work in

There is nothing exotic in the work. What matters is the order — each step makes the next one cheaper.

1
Repair what blocks ranking
Repoint the dead template link and recover 660 internal links. Surface the orphaned portfolio. Fix mobile speed, which measures 61 against 91 on desktop.
2
Give the city pages their own voices
Redmond, Tukwila and Federal Way are 99.4% identical to one another, and 134 page pairs are at least 60% similar. That is why every city page ranks for nothing.
3
Rebuild the service pages against winnable terms
Fifty-nine page-two rankings with real volume behind them, and fifteen service pages currently holding four ranked keywords between them.
4
Wire the local layer
Claim the eight open directory seats. Put each listing’s own phone number on its matching city page, so the listings corroborate each other without losing call tracking.
5
Then, and only then, the map
It is the most expensive piece and the least urgent, and the satellite addresses want re-examining before more money goes into them.
07

Everything behind this letter

All of it is live, and all of it reads from the same measurements. Nothing below is a mock-up.

The map is built for a desktop screen. On a phone it will ask you to come back on a larger display — the two figures in section 03 are the same views, captured at full resolution.

This is a remodel, not a teardown. The bones are good.

You built the machine — the reviews, the content, the three listings, the map strength. All that is left is to aim it. If you would like the walk-through, reply and I will set up a call. Thirty minutes, no obligation, and you keep the diagnosis either way.
